Product Details

The stone of the sea! Perfect for mermaids, sailors, sea lovers and anyone who loves the ocean, these dainty handcrafted boho-style contemporary pendants are made from solid sterling silver using traditional metalsmithing techniques, and each features a gorgeous rose-cut Aquamarine gemstone.

Each stone has been securely set in a custom made setting using silver castellated gallery wire on a solid recycled silver backplate. They are natural Moss Aquamarines, and are a deeper blue-grey colour than other Aquamarines which are more greenish in tone. They are rose cut with a faceted top, and have a stunning sparkle that helps them glow as the light passes over them.

All four pendants have been oxidised for an antique vintage look, before being polished back to a higher shine. The reverse of each backplate has a plain finish and they are paired with an 18"/45cm sterling silver belcher chain, which fastens with a classic bolt clasp.

Sold individually, each of these necklaces is unique and 'one of a kind' - please select your exact choice from the menu. Details on the sizes of each one are given below, with measurements taken from the length and width of the backplate itself (not including the hanging loop).

A - Backplate measures 17mm by 13mm and is 5mm deep.

B - Backplate measures 15mm by 12mm and is 5mm deep.

C - Backplate measures 13mm by 16mm and is 5mm deep.

D- Backplate measures 16mm by 12mm and is 5mm deep.

I do usually have a selection of other chains in stock - please contact me before purchasing if you would prefer to have an alternative style or length to that shown here and I can let you know what I currently have available.

ABOUT THE STONE

The name 'Aquamarine' come from the Latin 'aqua marinus' meaning 'water of the sea' and refers to its beautiful ocean-like colour. This colour, consisting of varying shades of blue through to green, is caused by iron oxides within the makeup of the stones.

In ancient folklore Aquamarine was believed to be the treasure of mermaids and was used by sailors as a talisman of good luck, fearlessness and protection. It was also considered a stone of eternal youth and happiness.

Today it protects all who travel by, over or near water. It is also the traditional birthstone for the month of March.

PACKAGING & SHIPPING

Due to weight and value, this necklace will be carefully gift wrapped and presented in a ribbon-tied cardboard gift box. All items are sent in mailing boxes, mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate.

Shipping within the UK is already included via Royal Mail's ‘Tracked 24’ service (delivery estimate within 2-3 working days), with an optional upgrade to an express 'Special Delivery' service available at checkout for an additional charge (delivery estimate 1-2 working days).

I always aim to despatch all orders on the same or next working day that they are received, so any upgrade in postage chosen by a customer will be for the purposes of achieving higher priority within the Royal Mail system itself, rather than a faster processing time from me as a seller.

Please be aware that I am unable to guarantee specific delivery times of orders once posted but an estimate will be provided on checkout. This is a guide only.

GIFT WRAP & MESSAGING

This item already includes the gift packaging upgrade as standard, which is why the option to select it is not included on this listing.

If you wish to include a short handwritten message on a tag then I am more than happy to provide this service free of charge. Please enter any required text in the optional box to the left of the images.

In addition, if you wish the item to be sent direct to the recipient, then please make sure the mailing address is correct during the checkout process.
